Afro-EU Garment Innovation and Sustainability Summit

On 21 August 2025, the Association of Women in Fashion-Tech (WIFT), in collaboration with strategic partners, hosted the Afro-EU Garment Innovation and Sustainability Summit in Lagos, Nigeria.

The summit brought together policymakers, industry leaders, development organizations, fashion entrepreneurs, and international stakeholders to explore opportunities for advancing garment industrialization, sustainability, and innovation across Africa and Europe.

The event served as a platform for knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, and partnership building, focusing on key areas such as sustainable garment production, fashion technology, circular economy practices, export readiness, and investment opportunities within the garment sector. With over 500 participants and numerous exhibitors in attendance, the summit showcased Africa’s growing potential as a hub for sustainable and globally competitive garment manufacturing.

The summit also reinforced WIFT’s commitment to empowering women-led fashion enterprises and strengthening cross-continental collaborations that promote inclusive economic growth. It marked a significant milestone in fostering Afro-European partnerships and positioning Nigeria as a leading player in the future of sustainable fashion and garment production in Africa.
